The trance gate technique (like Ross from Friends, Bicep, Max Cooper and Moderat)

This is a tutorial on how to apply the “Trance Gate” technique. In Ableton Live, you can use the “gate” effect to cut sounds rhythmically from long, sustained source sound. This allows you to get really groovy, really quickly, and is a classic staple in many dance genres, including popular artists like Bicep, Ross from Friends, Max Cooper and Moderat.

I’m trying out some new camera angles and editing styles, let me know what you think in the comments 😃👇
